What We Do
Heart of Missouri United
Way is a local, non-profit organization that
brings people, health and human service agencies, government entities, and
community groups together to tackle the most pressing human service needs in
our community. Together, we provide an
umbrella of services to help our friends, family members, co-workers and
neighbors who are in need.
Heart of Missouri United
Way works with these partners to research
community needs and fund programs to address these needs. Our year-round,
volunteer-driven organization makes sure United Way gifts are spent wisely. The United Way provides
a forum where concerned citizens can tackle community problems together.
We build a strong community for families, friends, neighbors,
co-workers, men, women, seniors, children, teenagers, and people with
disabilities by directing donations to services that help people when they need
it.
Our services reach people in the Heart of Missouri area - in 2007, we
served 113,000 people in Boone, Audrain, Callaway, Cole, Cooper, Howard and Randolph counties.
We Build and Strengthen our Community with:
Leadership
We research and identify critical health and human service needs throughout
the Heart of Missouri and take the lead in directing funding and other
resources to ensure that people get the help they need.
Partnership
Through our working relationships with local health and human service
agencies, government entities, community leaders, donors, and service groups,
Heart of Missouri United Way brings people together to tackle tough issues and
create solutions to community problems.
Focus
More than 600 United Way
community volunteers study the big-picture needs of our community, and with
that knowledge, they work to concentrate resources where those needs are
greatest.
Results
We measure success by impact, not just numbers of people served. Heart
of Missouri United Way
is committed to investing resources in solutions.
