The increased needs in our community are staggering, but we know that mid-Missouri has a spirit that will help raise the money needed to support crucial human service programs across the community. That’s why Heart of Missouri United Way is asking the entire community to come together November 16th through 20th to show its support to help our neighbors during
Live United Week ‘09.
It’s One week, one cause, one community. There are a variety of activities you can participate in at your workplace to help us make this week a success as well as planned community activities to attend and show your support.
5 Simple Steps to a Successful LIVE UNITED WEEK ‘09
1. Flip through the Idea Book- Plan to attend the community activities and get inspired for what you and your company/group can do.

2. Decide which events you are interested in and use the resources available to you below to make them EASY and fun for everyone!
4. Fill out the LIVE UNITED WEEK Participation Form or email LTesterman@uwheartmo.org .
5. Conduct your events, attend community events, have fun, turn in any money raised. Click here to request a pick-up of the funds raised.
What is LIVE UNITED Week
Live United Week Was started in 2008 as a capstone event for the Heart of Missouri Annual Fundraising Campaign. The week of events and activities around mid-Missouri was focused on increasing awareness and involvement in United Way and its impact on 1 in 3 mid-Missourians annually. With events ranging from company bbq’s to large online auctions, the week was a success and the community asked for more... thus LIVE UNITED Week ‘09.

Come out for the first Columbia LIVE UNITED Flash mob Thursday, November 19th at noon in the Lowry Mall on MU Campus. Wear your LIVE UNITED shirt and make a scene for a great cause.
MU-KU Challange
For 48 hours, the two schools and their respective communities (yes that means all of us in Columbia), will compete to reign as the 2009 LIVE UNITED Champions. The competition is to collect loose change in support of each school’ United Way campaign ONLY during November 18th and 19th. While we are rivals on the field, the Tigers and Jayhawks LIVE UNITED in their communities!
