Designed to help enhance nonprofit organizations’ capacity, the ASPIRES Project offers Free Quarterly Nonprofit Classes open to ANY local nonprofit organization. Classes are first come first served so make sure to check back for upcoming classes.

Partner for Better is a contracted facilitator of the ASPIRES Project whose services impact the ASPIRES Project’s broader goal of increased capacity for local nonprofit organizations to support a collective effect on the capacity of the local nonprofit sector and our community’s infrastructure. 
Session 1: How to Develop an Annual Board To-Do List — April 30, 2025, 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM

A well-structured board is essential for a thriving nonprofit. In this class, board members and nonprofit leaders will learn how to create an organized roadmap of annual tasks that strengthen governance, ensure compliance, and align with strategic goals. Through practical guidance, participants will explore ways to prioritize responsibilities, set clear deadlines, and foster accountability—ensuring their board operates efficiently and effectively.

This class explores the Crucial Conversations framework for managing high-stakes, emotionally charged discussions. Through practical strategies, participants will learn to communicate clearly, handle conflict constructively, and foster meaningful dialogue in personal and professional settings.

Asking for donations can feel intimidating—sometimes even scary! This hands-on class empowers nonprofit leaders, fundraisers, and volunteers with the strategies and confidence to make compelling, effective asks. Participants will learn how to craft persuasive messaging, overcome common fundraising challenges, and engage donors in a meaningful way. We’ll also dedicate time to direct mail strategies, ensuring attendees walk away with actionable tools for multiple fundraising approaches.
